Workshop on Classroom Management by CBSE was conducted on Friday, July 21st 2023 and Saturday July 22nd 2023. The two-day workshop was conducted by Dr. S. Jayashree Muralidhar and Mr Suresh M Mahalingapur. It was conducted in the audio-visual room of Manasarowar Pushkarini Vidyashrama from 9 am to 4.30 pm on both the days. A total of 60 teachers of Manasarowar Pushkarini Vidyashrama attended the workshop. The topic, Effective Discipline Capacity Building Programme on Classroom Management was introduced.

The three major components of classroom management were discussed in detail, namely: 1) Content management 2) Conduct management and 3) Covenant management On the first day, under Content Management the following aspects were discussed:

● Curriculum and Instructional Planning or Managing Instruction

● Management of Physical Environment

● Management of Time

● Teaching Style

The above content was discussed in detail with case studies and a lot of group activities. The second day’s session started with Conduct Management which covered the topics of

* Classroom Rules, Procedures and Routines

* Consequences and Rewards and

* Knowledge of child psychology.

The third and the most essential classroom element that is Covenant Management in education was taken up. It dealt with how teachers should try to establish positive teacher-student and peer relationships that help to meet students’ psychological needs. A third component of teacher-parent partnership was also discussed at length. During the two day workshop the facilitators were very friendly and had enough knowledge about the topics discussed. The workshop was very helpful for the teachers as it provided them a better understanding of classroom management.
